Time to Start Planning for Fall Planting of Cool-Season Forages

— Written By

If you are planning to establish cool-season forages, either annual or perennial, consider starting to make arrangements now (i.e., do a soil test to determine if soil amendments will be needed, locate seed, etc.)! A general planting guide with planting rates and dates of planting for forages in NC can be found in the Planting Guide for Forage Crops in North Carolina publication.

Contact your local Ext. Agent for specific recommendations for your farm.
